Marked Bucket: Lines drawn onto the bucket to mark 1 gallon and 2 gallon fill levels.

Graduated Bucket: Lines are also visible from inside... but won't be, once the liner is in place.

Cut Line: The line was also cut into the bucket. Build a stand (pile of wood, books, etc) to hold a box knife at a steady height, and turn the bucket to inscibe a fill line that won't wash off.

DuraCool Mat: Home Depot carries these for about $8. 30x36 is easily enough for two bucket coolers.

Thick Mat: The mat is about an inch thick and fairly fragile. Don't squeeze it too hard!

Shade cloth: Comes 6' wide and some places sell it in 1' increments. I bought mine at Osh for about $2/foot. Two feet is plenty ... if they're generous with the cut, you can do two bucket coolers easily.
